So I read online and saw some people saying the tubes need to be "burned in"
-
I used both the cheap Chinese tubes that came with it and upgraded to some ge tubes which sounded significantly better
-
It also has the added plus of an Aux input on the front so you can enjoy the sweet tube sound out of devices such as your Ipod or smartphone
-
With some nice tubes, though, this little box sounds great
-
But getting that sweet tube sound at this price point is literally a steal
-
Remember, at this price point, tubes are almost always a gimmick
-
This is a decent little preamp that sounds good with the right tubes when it works
-
So hooked this new unit into my 1965 Dual turntable, Hotdoggy those tubes worked there magic
-
The tubes are not bad, but you have to break them in to get the full warmth
-
The tubes take just a few seconds to warm up then they play well.
-
I changed the right tube and took out the Chinese J61 tube and replaced it with Jan Phillips GE 5654W tube.
-
Thanks for the affordable tube sound for our turntables and other audio equipment!
-
Oh heck, yes!!!If you are looking for a really good tube phono stage without spending out a lot of cash, the Little Bear T7 is for you.
-
If you are willing to gamble and get a good one that lasts it is well worth the money especially with the right tubes but for me I am done with it
