I had this same thing happen with a Battery Tender brand some years

I purchased a new battery for my motorcycle and have a pattern of hooking up the battery tender every time I roll it back into the garage

Although not as fancy Delco Battery tenders have never let me

This battery charger /maintainer is a pleasant improvement over my Battery Tender's.

I had purchased a booster that had failed me from the same brand and my battery tender just failed after low use.

I went back to using my Deltran Battery Tender Junior that has been working for years

I have several Battery Tender Juniors that work fine and don't have this issue

There are more cost-effective battery tenders available, but this component does not feel cheep.-Michael

We are currently using ours on our Harley Davidson as a battery tender, but also used it to charge 2 separate batteries from vehicles that were completely dead

I've been using a smaller one constantly for a few years on my motorcycle, it has outlasted my more expensive Battery Tender by far

I have several Battery Tender Juniors that work fine and don't have this issue

I used this battery tender to maintain my lawnmower battery

Don't waste your money on this battery tender.

Works as it should.
