Novation Circuit Groove Box w/ Sample Import: 2-Part Synth, 4-Part Drum Machine and Sequencer

    • I have very minimal experience making music, I bought an akai mpk49 awhile back thinking it would be a good way to get my feet wet with electronic music but was I overwhelmed with everything you have to do just so the board would have sound coming out of it
    • At the same time, I would not sit down with it with the goal of ending up with a song because somehow that seems to be the most reliable way to feel limited rather than directed
    • I sold this to a buddy getting started telling him it was probably the best way to start messing around because you can just make things work
    • The best way to describe this product is that it's a is very intuitive tool for creative exercisesThe only true CON was that it didn't come with the standard serial key sheet to register with my other products online
    • I find myself playing a lot more, and having way more fun
    • Playing with these gives you the opportunity to have your sounds evolve in a complex way rather than stay stagnant
    • And if you know how to send clock out of you DAW, then what I'm saying is the Circuit has some sort of smart way of knowing automatically that you want it to play in time with your host
    • It took under 15 seconds to get my head bobbing like it was a night at the Roxbury, and with less than 15 minutes with it, I already feel like I know my way around the entire device, and like I'm already ready to take it to the studio because I know exactly all the things I wanna try with it
    • Excellent and intuitive way of making simple music easily and quickly, but you can get really in depth with this too
    • It’s great for generating ideas quickly and tweaking some of the more common and useful parameters on the fly and the sounds are inspiring; not digitally or plastic-y
