    • I had two 3TB drives from this model and both of them died within a year.
    • A single drive makes so much noise it is utterly annoying like a giant mosquito and five of them in a Drobo sounds like a leaf blower in the room
    • Absolutely great hard drive
    • RecommendationUse a solid state hard drive for windows and high demand programs (Photoshop, Autocad, High end video games, etc) then use this drive as a secondary drive to store all files and low priority programs (Office products, Messengers, low end video games, etc). This will save on cost of storage but still allow for great performance

    • These are some terrible hard drives
    • Good hard drive
    • You don't get screwed with this hard drive and
    • Apparently Seagate is the least reliable brand for hard drives, which I didn't research.
    • I am now replacing the seagate hard drives with HGST hard drives with very good reputation in the industry.
    • (New Old Stock) that the manufacturer's warranty for hard drives usually starts on the day the drive was manufactured so when buying a 3+ year old new drive, there is probably no manufacturer's warranty left.
    • Replaced a failed drive.
    • Performant hard drive
    • Yes Seagate has the cheapest drives but what good is it if you can't rely on them

    • I've been using Seagate's 2TB hard drives for four years now and they have not let me down once
    • I bought this to replace a 1TB Seagate hard drive that was starting to go out after three years
    • When you mount these in a normal "tin" hard drive cage in a machine they will vibrate the ever living shit out of the box on read
    • Would not recommend this hard drive and frankly, none of Seagate's products, after this experience
    • The 3 TB is a large capacity so you have to be careful not to leave viruses crawling for long in your hard drive as they can create bad sectors, and try not to shake the HDD while running may cause failure or data damageThe HDD

    • Its a Seagate hard drive.
    • This drive is junk
    • I used this drive along with a modified version of the network adapter so that it would work with the hdd and for the most part I've been able to run mostly every game that I've loaded onto the hard drive with very little loading time
    • Great hard drive
    • This drive just died after having it over 3 years.
    • These aren't the fastest drives in the world, but for NAS-like purposes, they don't need to be.
    • Would highly recommend a backup drive to this one as in a mirrored RAID configuration.
    • I am on my third drive, my first one had to be returned immediately and actually damaged my other two drives in my computer, one I was able to recover and the other got damage beyond recovery of data
    • The read/write speeds on this hard drive are fantastic, making it an excellent mass storage drive for any PC
    • THIS DRIVE IS DETERIORATING
    • I checked hard drive with HDTune and it passed with flying colors.
    • Works great as a Win-7 system drive: BEWARE use another system to partition this into 2 full 1 terabyte partitions, if you let Win-7 itself setup those partitions stupidly it will make a small 100 meg boot partition and one other: the rest of the drive will be inaccessible.

    • Tip for Seagate - If I can hear an idle drive at 30 feet around a corner, there's something wrong with it
    • On a more positive note, I must mention that the drive (once the firmware is patched), is very quiet, and seems to perform fairly well
    • After ~3 years of use the drive died suddenly.
    • I bought this hard drive to replace a dead drive in a server that is configured with raid
    • I would expect more from today's hard drives.
    • I now hate this drive
    • My 2TB HDD now only shows up as a 3.8 Gb inaccessible unpartitioned drive on my disk management and throws an I/O error if I try to initialize it
