My previous models all failed however these are running strong

There's something seriously wrong with this hard drive model.

When I did some homework on them after the fact, I learned that these are a highly defective model.

They have a much higher failure rate that other models from Seagate or Western Digital

Just Googling the model number st3000dm001 returns countless articles and complaints about this drive's failure rate and possibly even a class action lawsuit regarding the failures

I could have upgraded to a newer version of the Seagate drive, but this model has been extremely reliable.

However, the support rep told me she could not verify whether this drive was 7200RPM or 5900RPM, even if I offered her the serial number or model number.

These disks are now known to be a bad model
