• Reviews around year (2.10 of 5)

(Old Model) Seagate 1TB Desktop HDD SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive (ST1000DM003)

    • Look at all the other reviews - all the same problem with the same bogus "2 year warranty".
    • It died 2.5 years after I bought it
    • Died suddenly one day, I didn't even get two years out of it
    • However, two years for something like this is unacceptable.
    • One slowly failed over three years (I didn't realize it, since I didn't fill up the drive, just had random errors.
    • Looked it up, this line of drives has a 13-22% first year failure rate
    • It failed in 8/16, so a little over three years, considering this is not a driver recommended for a NS that is not too bad but would have added a star if it has lasted longer.
    • It lasted about 3 years of _very_ light usage and then died with no warning.
    • This time, the warranty replacement drive went into the NAS, and I was forced to purchase a new cold-swap backup, since the failed drive was now outside the pitiful 2 year warranty
    • The first 3 died were just shy of 4 years old, the last one is barely 3 years old -- still outside of their terrible 2 year warranty.
    • I bought the same model Seagate 3TB drive ST3000DM001, which lasted 1 year, 11 months before it completely failed.
    • Literally failed two years and one day after I purchased it
    • 4 years strong now.
    • If the last one is anything to go by it lasted only 3 years before it went bad on me
    • Failed just under 2 years in.
    • Happy New Year you have a bad Hard drive and now your business is on hold until you can get a new one installed.
    • Four years and eight months after purchasing this drive, I started experiencing failures.
    • Been working as it should for 1 year or so.
    • They work as they should.
    • Works as it should right out of the box.
    • Do yourself a BIG favor, and get a Western Digital or HGST drive as they will honor from DATE OF PURCHASE.This is the last Seagate drive i will ever purchase again.
    • This hard drive is not worth the money as it dies in less than a year
    • Works as it should, but it's pretty noisy.
    • Worked as it should.
    • Would highly recommend a backup drive to this one as in a mirrored RAID configuration.
    • It works as it is supposed to but if you get the 2TB, you're only actually getting 1.8TB
