Unfortunately, like I said, not one, of the four that I ordered, had a weld there and therefore none would hold onto the drum rim because the top weld would act as a hinge, allowing the two metal pieces to swing wide open.

Its just poorly designed & has a weak welded joint that has begun to bend and will fail very soon, It may work if you have a very cheap and light-weight Mic, like a Mic you might find as a prize in a cracker Jack Box
