This is a great sounding and well built CD player for the price.

The mid range on the Onkyo is about the same as the CD-25 (close anyway), but the CD-25 is far better in detail and openness on the top end than the Onkyo

I don't normally do reviews, but thought the dust issue was worth mentioning as it saved me from eventually replacing a VERY nice sounding, perfectly good CD Player.

Will skip while playing a brand new unscathed cd if u bump it lightly, jump lightly, or have bass too loud, reminds me of my cd player from 2000.

Certainly, it is the most dependable and best sounding CD

I should add that I am one of those people with a working turntable as well as a cassette player, and I play tpaes, cd's and records, and infinitely prefer vinyl over all else.

Now, it rejects almost all of them -- all of which play fine in other CD players and CD-ROM drives

From what I understand from others who have owned or continue to own such elite or upper echelon cd equipment, is that between the Onkyo C-7030 and said players, the differences in sound quality may be a subtle increment to not-so-subtle to "The C-7030 just cannot compete

I have a collection of CDs and still support the format as CDs provide higher fidelity than most streaming music, and virtually any older music you'd want is still on CD, whereas not all music is available from streaming sources.

As I have built out my home theater and related speakers and audio system, I realized that buying a decent standalone CD player was called for.

I have owned this unit for 6 months it sounds great but it is now skipping on cd's and freezing up

that buy a CD player (like this one) or like the Cambridge Audio players, etc., and then use it as a disc transport with some receiver or external DAC that can take that optical or coaxial 44.1kHz/16bit output and "up-sample" it to 192kHz/24bit

What a joy it has been today listening to a cd player worthy of my speakers and receiver (Harmon Kardon HK3485).

There is good reason for this: it is, indeed, the best cd player you can buy for under $200, or for a LOT more money.

The CDs were heavily scratched to be fair, so it's not really a big deal if you have normal used CDs

I found this cd player and everything i've read about it implies that it does what it is intended to do very well-play one cd at a time

it cannot download the CDs after exactly a one year of purchase when the warranty has expired already

My office audio stack is comprised of a Marantz SR5009, Rotel RMB-1075 5 channel amp and the Onkyo C-7030.Audio sounds smooth and crisp and will probably sound even better after a couple weeks.

I recently had my Onkyo C-7030 converted into a CD player with a twin tube buffer with a X10-D Music Fidelity clone for $170.It has the buffer added into the main enclosure that's nice and roomy for the extra board and transformer.
