Curiously, it doesn't happen if the music is too loud or if there is absolute silence at the beginning of the track selected

In an age of dissapering CD players, and millenials willing to live with crappy music reproduction, grab this bargain before it too goes bye-bye.

But the music sounds great and that's the most important criteria for my money.

Now we can't listen to great music enough ~ Love the quality of the player & our CD's sound awesome.

As a caution, you will want vibration isolating feet or some absorption layer as there is no buffering at all and thumps will go straight through the transport and disrupt your music.

I have a collection of CDs and still support the format as CDs provide higher fidelity than most streaming music, and virtually any older music you'd want is still on CD, whereas not all music is available from streaming sources.

so it's nice to have a dedicated unit to enjoy the music.

But I really missed the simplicity and pure sound of just buying a disc, dropping it in the player, and enjoying the music

It makes harsh sounding music pleasant while emphasing every detail encoded in bits of 0's and 1's which eventually gets converted by what is an audiophile DAT converter for analog output

After a short couple of short years this thing lost volume and distorts the music pretty badly.

Music from my Bouston Acoustic Speakers is beautiful, clean and clear in high, medium and low ranges

Mostly in "modern" music.

Crisp beautiful sounding music, hearing sounds and a clarity in songs I have not heard before.

I have it connected solely via the optical cable, and it is now delivering blistering and accurate music from my CD collection, and I am even buying new CDs for the first time in many years.

I will strongly recommend this unit even for the the most critical music listener

It also seemed to skip on perfectly good CD’s...which really surprised and annoyed me
