Onkyo C-7030 Compact Disc Player (Black)

    • The remote is nice and solid, not some cheap car-audio grade unit
    • nice unit
    • unit is absolutely quiet.
    • The unit sounds exceptionally well considering the cost
    • Both units were dead silent when the discs were between tracks, or when passages were as quiet as 3 db.
    • All it means that the unit is troubled
    • The unit is quiet with no background and seems to have more head room than Sony unit
    • Every unit (yes, every unit--you'll see) has a problem: use the << , >> (scan), or > , < (skip) controls, or select a track by number, and there is a distinct electrical click in the left channel
    • Just a beautiful unit, pretty to look at and fun to operate
    • it is really a pity since i really trusted ONKYO all these years with their products but this unit is not worth the money i spent on it
    • I decided to try the Onkyo again since it was possible I had received a defective unit back then
    • One defective unit could have been a fluke, but two tells me there are quality control issues with Onkyo.
    • After two years, my first unit started to distort in the mid-range, so I replaced it with a new one.
    • I hear that Onkyo is coming out with a much higher-end C-7070 dedicated CD player (prob $700), but for $200, this unit is an amazing bargain.
    • The unit also offers optical outputs, but my new preamp does not support,so I am using Monster Brand RCA cables to connect to analog inputs
    • The unit looks good, and the remote looks good too
    • This appears to be a solid unit and the sound quality is great.
    • For my system and goals, this unit is excellent for anything I've studied in the less than $500 reange.
    • The unit is very solid and elegant in style
    • Good unit.
    • The first unit was defective, skipping on the later tracks of a disk
    • ***** received some bad units mixed within a few pallets, which was
    • It wasn't a defective unit, it is a design flaw.2
    • It's not that it's a bad unit.
    • The Wolfson recommendation for the WM8718 analog filter is a unit-gain multi-feedback (MFB) low-pass filter with differential input and single ended output, and this seems to be the route taken by the C-7030 designers
    • Solid unit (and not too huge either).
    • Excellent unit.
    • My only complaint is that the unit sometimes makes some noise when playing a CD, it is a noise coming from inside the unit as the CD is not properly seated in the internals or something like that, when this happens I usually eject the CD and then insert it again and then the noise is usually gone
    • A very nice unit.
    • 1 - I have an Onkyo audio-video receiver for my TV surround sound system and it has proven itself to be an awesome unit.
    • so I can't say with certainty how great this unit really is
    • Really your best bet for minimum aggravation is if the unit begins failing, or dies altogether, within the 30 days that Amazon guarantees your purchase: they'll refund your purchase, issue you a call-tag, and pick up both the item and the cost of return-shipping
    • The unit looks like a high-end cd player without unnecessary buttons and each button feels incredible considering the price.
    • I replaced a very expensive Harmon-Kardon unit with this Onkyo.
    • My only complaint is I wish it had more functionality, the DVD player I was using was able to play music DVD and FLAC files this unit cannot also would be nice if it had a USB input and or optical input, but for the money, its a really good unit
    • The unit was easy to hook up to my system and theaudio quality is superb
    • Like the experience of some other reviewers, the unit stopped mid-track, and thereafter refused to do anything but display "no disc".
    • Like the experience of some other reviewers, the unit stopped mid-track, and thereafter refused to do anything but display "no disc".
    • Unfortinately, my unit sounded awful out of the
    • Very nice unit and looks great great addition to my collection.
    • Well, that was until I took a listen to this inexpensive Onkyo unit to replace a secondary CD player.
    • The second unit works wonderfully
    • good ,basic unit, for a fair price.only have about 20 hours on it
    • If unit lasts a number of years, and build quality suggests it will, this player will prove a very good value.
    • Great unit that fell short on quality control
    • The unit looks great.
    • I would highly recommend the unit.
    • Don't listen to those who have criticized this unit and said unfair things about it.
    • This is a nice heavy, professional looking unit, well laid out and quiet
    • This unit presents sounds across the spectrum that my previous units had been unable to reproduce.
    • It doesn't have the clarity of fidelity of more expensive units but is far more than adequatethan would be expected from the price paid
    • A nice unit that compliments the rest of our A/V system.
    • Looking inside, the build quality is very good, I see no reason for unit failure based on the build
    • This unit eventually becomes defective.
    • this is a great economical unit
    • Very solid unit.
    • This is a very good unit that will enhance your music experience.
    • I think this unit looks very classy and more expensive than it is
    • Great unit
    • Had the unit for a few months, and no issues
    • This unit is so easy to use and the product is not the chunk of plastic of the other price brands at this cost
    • The remote is nice and solid, not some cheap car-audio grade unit
    • The only problem we have is this is a black unit, and we can barely see the words that correspond with the various buttons.
    • It's a solidly built, nicely designed unit that does the one thing it's designed to do well.
    • If the unit has any sonic flaw, it is inaudible to my 65-year-old ears
    • the second unit has a much quieter hum, but still there.
    • Maybe I just get a bad unit
    • I find it it highly suspect that it is the unit's build quality as a problem when folks have issues with this player
    • I have seen reviews that claims it is as good as units 3-4 times the price.
    • It is a solid unit and very easy to set up and use and looks good on my shelf with my other components
    • I'd like to address the complaints of bad units
    • This unit has exceeded all expectations
    • Neither unit had the slightest hiss or hum.
    • The audio quality is spectacular, and if you are in the market to add a dedicated CD player, I highly recommend this Onkyo unit.
    • All in all, so far I'm glad with the results; of course, it cannot compete with my main system, though this second unit sounds fairly good.
    • This unit sounds great, makes even my older cd's come to life.
    • Would recommend this unit to anyone who wants good sound quality at a reasonable price.
    • Nice solid unit
    • After reading some Onkyo forums, I opened the unit and cleaned the laser lens with some alcohol with a Q-tip.
    • The power supply on the unit died, and rather than go through the expense and trouble of replacing it, I bought a Tascam professional unit
    • This is exactly the kind of substantial, no-fluff, well-thought-out unit we should have in abundance by now
    • My music is new again and as stated in reviews of this player I am hearing things I had not heard before I highly recommend this unit if you are looking for a CD player, The five discs are nice for loading up a lot of music to just chill to but the sound quality on this player has made me a convert.
    • I have had this unit for a couple of days and so far it works fine, as expected
    • My first unit was totally defective
    • Don't get me wrong, it's still a good sounding budget unit
    • Also, for the one job that it was supposed to do, which it did not do well, the unit seemed rather cumbersome, and heavy
    • The C7030 is an unassuming unit, but it works well and doesn't make a fuss.
    • and I'm still delighted with the sound of this well made unit.
    • I will strongly recommend this unit even for the the most critical music listener
    • so I don' t expect any damage to the unit
