The sub woofer doesn't work when arrived

Sub woofer was broken on arrival

This is replacing a 12+ year old Onkyo system on which the sub woofer and one of the front speakers had gone bad, crackling so bad they had to be disconnected

the sub-woofer had a capacitor/transistor blow (lovely sulfur smell)
