I have a region-free DVD player, and it is so wonderful to be able to buy movies in PAL and play them (many of which are not available in NTSC).

Just couldn't see long term future of Blu-Ray, but with my back log of DVD's and various rips, I'm glad I replaced my old faithful Panasonic DVD RP91 to expand my horizons, as well as Blu-Ray options going forward.

DVD's look fantastic, the Netflix stream is pure, and the unit itself is built like a tank--solid and to last.

Even if it had delivered the DVD goods in spades, there is no way that alone is worth $500 when nothing else had lived up to my expectations, audio/video performance-wise

DVD-A option works just fine when you have an actual DVD-A in so operator error there

I had a Denon 3910 DVD player which still works better than any other unit I have ever owned or operated

My older BDP-83SE to my ear has better sound quality but this is no slouch, clearly MUCH MUCH MUCH better than cheap DVD/CD/Blue ray decks.

Until I reset to its default I was not able to adjust it properly, whilst noticing some erratic behaviour, such as not locking into the correct A/V sync adjustment

My little $250 Panasonic has selectable 3D formatting for whatever your TV requires in addition to split A/V if necessary
