    OPPO BDP-103 Universal Disc Player (SACD / DVD-Audio / 3D Blu-ray)

    • Nice feature set
    • Very easy to connect to wireless PC and loved the auto update features from Oppo to the player.
    • Overall, this is a good feature if you would like to use this unit as a media server.
    • It is super fast, has great features and great video quality
    • Nice features.
    • Another neat feature that I have found is connect-ability to a NAS server, to stream audio/video into the OPPO for replay
    • The subtitle shifting is a nice feature that I use frequently, since I have a CIH screen.
    • A two year warranty is a great feature for sure.
    • My favorite feature is the dual display mode
    • Great feature
    • Great realiable player with nice features; but out of my collection of roughly 100 titles (individual blue-ray movies or sets), it won't play 3 of them
    • However, when you use the dual screen settings to enjoy full features available on DVD Audio, the sound is down-mixed to PCM and you cannot enjoy the near perfect sound of DSD signals for multichannel audio for SACD playback
    • My favorite feature: I can push the disc caddy in without the whole player moving
    • It loads fast, has many cool and convenient features, and of course, kicka** picture!!
    • Rear usb working fine, it is a nice feature that it has so many usb ports, I know of at least 3 (2rear, 1front).2
    • While the techie in me doesn't mind the lack of Netflix (because I cared more for the aforementioned features that the 971H had, plus the new features of the BDP-83 that included Blu-Ray), my family doesn't see things that way when they watch their Survivor or Jeopardy or YouTube vids or movies like Clash of the Titans (1981)
    • A very nice feature if your receiver lacks upconverting technology
    • Free, frequent firmware upgrades add features like the recently introduced capability to play dsd and dsf direct stream digital downloads (not just SACD discs which share the same format). If you want exceptional picture, audio quality, and a component with outstanding quality and customer service in this price range, you absolutely can't go wrong with this player.
    • All the features I have used to date are awesome....solid unit will do WAYYYY more than I'll need I'm sure.
    • Great features and build quality.
    • Feature set, superb
    • If you don't have a really high end system I'd recommend saving the money and get a more full featured player like the Samsung I linked above.
    • The wifi connectivity that the Oppo unit provides is an unexpected feature.
    • The features on this baby are top of the line
    • Especially I like being able to turn off the ridiculous BD-Live feature where a disk can query a web page
    • This feature alone is worth the $ 499 price tag
    • Right now I'm only using it for playing CD's (and had to buy a separate remote because I bought it used without one), but it has a great sound and great features.
    • The Oppo is a joy to use, and offers unmatched features and compatibility
    • Best features of this player: remembers your spot on up to 5 movies for playback
    • It has GREAT features and is very quick in loading DVDs, Blu-Ray and all the involved apps
    • Online features: worked perfectly, had no issues
    • I'm the audiophile, and quite honestly enjoy the analog output and network features the most
    • If You want a great blue ray disc with all great features, this is it.
    • The set-up features are clear and user friendly.
    • Also, wiil find a USB input and an MHL compatible HDMI port input ( This input up-scale any source using the integrated Qdeo Marvell's Kyoto -G2H Video Chip processor from 480p to 4K, a very useful feature)
    • You may find some BD players for only $89, but what about build quality, performance and top notch features
    • The oppo has some really nice customization features for optimizing video/audio playback to your desire.my favorites are as follows
    • The remote is easy to use, but is very well featured
    • Invest in this OPPO you will be satisfied with both sound and pix, and amazing other simple features like moving the sub titles out of the pix area down below the picture.
    • Although some luxury accessories and packaging became unnecessary like a carrying bag, high quality print of product feature cardboard and manual, fancy gift box for accessories...those could have used to either lower retail price or enhance other useful feature like larger LCD display area, or song name title and artist info (tag) while you play Pandora or other music source without TV on (I had that on my Yamaha network receiver)
    • Now Oppo has released the BDP-103 which by everything I read was a high-end player with outstanding picture quality and features.
    • I contacted support and got a polite but short e-mail back instructing me to update to the latest firmware and wait for the next one
    • It's a smart device with both wired and wireless networking, with the ability to connect to a lengthy list of online services as well as to any local DLNA-compliant media library, and it even has a smartphone app available to let you use your smartphone as a remote for it
    • I wish it had 2k/4k support on the HDMI ports as well as having some more audio processing effects for only 2channel sources.
    • I smiled as it reminded me of the early 80's when my mother and I bought my father his first "audiophile" setup from Pacific Audio in Marin.
    • so I knew the sound would improve as it had neither of the lossless codecs.)
    • I had never tried it on my other blu-ray players, so there wasn't even a hi-def conversion point of reference--it looked just a crappy as it did on DVD players with SD TVs.
    • It really blew me away as to quality and performance
    • but if i was pressed to chose i would go with the 103 as far as 3d goes it also has two hdmi inputs picture quality there both as good as it gets the sound on cds the 103 and the 93 are hard to tell apart but my brother and i felt the 103 had a hair more detail over the93 in the deep
    • And the SACD portion works well too, for those of you who enjoy them as we do
    • a/v receiver using the second OPPO hdmi port- as they recommended.
    • and I have split A/
    • This Universal Player comes at a high price but you won`t get a better display until you reach the Oppo BDP-105, that will only be necessary if you are really into analogue-hifi-audiophile sound, since it has a better DAC and balanced XLR connectors that are only available on high end, extremely expensive equipments
    • If you have a good TV, you won`t notice any picture quality improvement.
    • I contacted support and got a polite but short e-mail back instructing me to update to the latest firmware and wait for the next one
