I no longer use my backup DVD player which was better than my last BluRay players when it came to playing disks with "bad spots" -- Oppo did not have a problem with the music CD that had started losing a few minutes on three different players.

If Oppo can finally solve these issues it will be a truly fantastic player

The Oppo has been great in that it is an excellent performer with very few glitches for all the media I play on it.

Clearly based on all the reviews and accolades Oppo makes great players

The OPPO also has a wifi adapter for internet surfing even if TV lacks ethernet input or wifi.

If you are familiar with OPPO products then I need to say nothing more, if you are not do your research and you will find that OPPO is the top of the line!

Oppo should rectify this problem and send me another remote with other codes that should match another firmware upgrade.2

Apps and the ease of the User Interface is where the Panasonic DMP-BDT220 shines most and, most likely, outshines the Oppo (especially considering the price differences).I will be testing out my new Panasonic DMP-BDT220 Blu-ray DVD Player, if... for some ludicrous reason, it does not measure up, I will report back but, truthfully, I expect it to outperform my Oppo BDP-83 (which has stopped being reliable and is just FRUSTRATING!

I'm sure there are plenty of other players out there that are just as good as the Oppo for video or music

I bought this based on the great reviews and OPPO did not disappoint

After viewing them and chuckling to myself I couldn't help but write this review in an attempt to highlight that since Oppo makes the most expensive 3D blu-ray player available on amazon(i've checked), and since this unit is of itself so much more expensive than other typical 3D blu-ray players available on amazon; Why on earth wouldn't the company use only solid capacitors on the circuit board

I highly recommend the Oppo BDP-103.Thanks Oppo for allowing me to get the maximum out of my home theater

In other words, the OPPO is not capable of using 4K source, it can only upscale lower resolution material to 4K, something any decent 4K TV can do by itself

My original Oppo, the DV-981HD, suffered from a heart-stopping, lightening induced power surge which then provided me the incentive to replace that Oppo and a separate BR player with this new BDP-103.

The OPPO actually boosts, improves, helps my ole retro Plasma TV.

The Oppo also has a work around for receivers that don't support HDMI 1.4.

Based on the positive reviews and Oppo's reputation, I had high expectations for this player.

now my Samsung will give this player a run for the money, but the Oppo is even better than the Samsung player.

Even the mighty Oppo's Qdeo video processing couldn't help these horrible DVD transfers.

I desaturated a bit with the Oppo settings and turned brightness up, but had a little trouble with that subtle red glow; Oppo's image controls can't really correct that too

With my 4K television, the Panasonic players would show distortions in the picture continually where as this Oppo has eliminated any distortion whatsoever.

Sorry OPPO but this model is not as good as the 93 model I've had for a few years now.

Although I would like to, one day, appreciate my Oppo, I have a hard time thinking that it will ever be a reliable unit

As an added bonus, Oppo keeps up with firmware upgrades and they work flawlessly - every time.

For foreign buyers, note that I still use my older player, as the OPPO is not region free and I am unaware of a code to "unlock it," while the Yamaha can be unlocked and does play my Region 4 DVDs

My Blu Ray player took forever to load which has always annoyed me and the Oppo is the fastest in the business.

The OPPO is incredible and though it is a bit more expensive than "cheap" players, it is an American designed player (Silicon Valley) by people who know what they are doing

Retired my SONY BDP-S1, after reading articles in Home Entertainment on numerous occasions, the OPPO is the best with my 70" Sharp, Direct TV and McIntosh power amp and preamp/processor

although the GUI is a bit more modern and the remote slightly improved, you still have rudimentary DOS looking folder access when viewing photos on the network or playing FLACS/WAV's (up to 24-192!) on external drives through the USB.With that said, this Oppo is worth every penny and more-amazing sound, plays everything I can think of or would want to, build like a tank, etc

So I am basically pretty cheap (especially on recurring monthly expenses), but I think the Oppo is worth the money for what it is and what you get for A/V improvement benefits
