Great picture and sound

Awesome video and sound

I do use the CD-player which has a good sound and is replacing a defunct player

I was expecting a fantastic picture but what really blew me away was the sound.

This Oppo has given an older Kenwood receiver, that has plenty of power and great sound, but no HDMI, A deep breath of new life

And using the Oppo's unique "split" HDMI 1 & 2 output option, Blu-ray video output (HDMI 1 out, directly into my 58" Hi-Def Samsung Plasma) is astonishing... and the accompanying HDMI 2 out audio (which goes directly into my Yamaha RX-A2010 AVR) is clearer and more pure-sounding than I have ever experienced

Great Blue-Ray player and fantastic sound as either a CD transport or player

This player is built solid with superb picture quality and the sound that runs through this player to my receiver is powerful

Sound was clear, detailed, warm, smooth, but never muddy

channel;cds sound like those that first came out back in the 80s with a harsh,metallic sound.

However, when you use the dual screen settings to enjoy full features available on DVD Audio, the sound is down-mixed to PCM and you cannot enjoy the near perfect sound of DSD signals for multichannel audio for SACD playback

Video is amazing but the analog out has constant hissing sound when connected directly to a power amp (using it as a preamp).

Not only is the Oppo an easier player to operate and takes considerably less time to go from loading a disc to watching it, it has far superior sound and picture quality.

If you spend $5000 on a BD player, I don't think you will get a better picture or sound than the BDP-103

Telarc 20 bit and red book CD's are up-sampled and are fantastic sounding

Compared with play the CD directly, the sound is much better if I rip the CD, and put in iTunes match and playback with oppo app

This Oppo sounded fine; a cleaner sound that the PC, but about the same as the Panasonic unit that would once again be replaced.

With the old player I needed to use a sound field setting on the Yamaha to get what I thought was good sound.

I'm not sure how much better it is compared to the Denon CD player I have (I didn't do an A/B comparison), but I will say that the few discs I dropped in for a quick test sounded very nice

You no longer lose sync but there are times when it switches between commercials or the show in which you lose all sound for several seconds.

The Oppo makes a great high-res music player the overall sound to the Oppo is outstanding

Simple setup (after it updates its firmware), and beautiful sound and movies.

I'm the guy who, as a 10 year old kid in the 80s, wished that my crt TV's resolution was as high as my computer monitor's, and I was always finding ways to improve the sound of my stereo connected to my tv and/or computer, adding multiple sets of speakers (prehistoric dolby surround), or using battery chargers with car stereo amps for more power (couldn't drive at 10 years old)

Wow this is the best player and improved the surround sound on our old Bose system

The picture was almost equal to a blu ray disc and the sound was great.

Sound and picture is awesome, and Blu-ray has become my all time favorite, the picture is spectacular

but I can say sound is very good, picture quality of DVD and Blu-Ray discs is great.

Even though all speakers are operating, I lose center channel sound, so it becomes obvious when I start playing something and hear no dialog

So if you have a surround sound system for your home theater with built-in amplifiers, you could use the preamp outs from it directly and get excellent digital sound

The hissing sound is not affected by the volume control and stays the same level from 1 to 100 on the player's volume.

It loads amazingly quickly and produces the best quality picture and 7:1 sound I have ever experienced

You wont regret it if you really appreciate good sound

After 48 hours of continuous burn-in, the stage stage is becoming larger, imaging is better, and sound is smoother.

Do not dump your audio out digitally to your TV and expect wonderful sound.

Dolby Digital Plus soundtracks has odd sibilant sounds and is excessively harsh sounding

Quiet operation, great looks, lovely sound, be it Blu Ray or Pandora -- although I wish it had Spotify

It came right out of the box and was amazingly easy to add to my system, requiring no final set-up adjustments and actually improved the picture and sound quality of a number of older DVDs in my collection.

more quickly.-There isn't a single audio or video feature missed by this unit ...the product description says it all, and it works.-Lip sync was perfect, even on poorly converted blu-rays that didn't work well on my old unit.-My old DVDs have come back to life with improved picture clarity and sound, just like Oppo promised they would.-Network services over WiFi, and I mean all of them, are faster than all my other streaming appliances

Plays well the video on HDMI ,the HDMI 2 for sound is just awful;I have the unit connected to a Marantz and the sound is not only terrible but so low that I have to crank up the volume to a dangerous level

so I recommend you have a HDMI input/output receiver for the best quality sound

Impressive ,sound and picture.

The sound of this player is excellent and has nearly nullified my Music Hall 25.3 DAC as the Oppo internal DAC is every bit as good for my CD's

a lot o presence in the chassis and the performance is flawless, nice clear, crisp image (I did not use the hdmi that coming with the player, still using my monster high speed HDMI), great sound connecting with my Onkyo receiver, setting up was a piece of cake in less than 20 min, got everything, wireless connection is fast, tried youtube and now Pandora..!!

The player had excellent picture and sound, played every disk format I owned flawlessly, and Oppo support continuously provided firmware updates to keep the unit relevant

Did I mention that the sound is also fantastic?

(You can split the picture and the sound, but it causes other problems so it is not recommended.)

It has a great picture and sound, but I've owned Sony and Toshiba players that also provided high quality video.

The first thing that that you will notice about the OPPO is the exceptional sound reporduction

The Dolby Digital sound to a Bose Lifestyle 48 has been perfect

Muddy Waters "Folk Singer" on SACD sounded great through this unit.

Also, the next day after I had gotten the player, I put in a blu-ray and the bottom portion of the tv screen was filled with a multi-colored pixelated mess (think of the Wonka Vision scene from the classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and the picture was jerking and skipping, and the sound was as well.

Sound and picture are both excellent .

Sound isn't great either

It has a great picture, sound and loads as quick as any player I have tried, but the biggest surprise was the "networkability" of the player

It is a definite upgrade, sound wise, from my old Sony SACD and BluRay players.

When enjoying a movie, the sound is as much and possibly more important than the video.

I set my receiver to straight so that it isn't doing any processing and the sound is crystal clear.

The sound is stunning - there is no contest between CD quality sound and HiRes.

although the GUI is a bit more modern and the remote slightly improved, you still have rudimentary DOS looking folder access when viewing photos on the network or playing FLACS/WAV's (up to 24-192!) on external drives through the USB.With that said, this Oppo is worth every penny and more-amazing sound, plays everything I can think of or would want to, build like a tank, etc

it were not for the frustrating firmware issues that continue to plague this new generation player, I would probably give it a perfect score since it does everything else so well and even throws in a fun 2-D to 3-D conversion feature that, to my surprise, I really enjoy
