Otherwise, this Ortofon Omega tracks well @1.5 grams, and the sound quality is not bad at all

I know Ortofon makes top-end equipment but for the casual user looking for solid quality at a "budget" price point you can't go wrong here.

Perhaps one day I can replace my ailing record player with a better quality one, but for now I am pretty happy with my setup

No sibilance(no "spitty" or distorted consonants,especially the words with the letter 'S',etc.) and NO inner groove distortion(IGD)---It will track those last two songs and tightly packed grooves towards the end of a record side without displaying that annoying screeching sound that lesser quality

I recently replaced my "modern" and low quality Sony turntable with an old school Realistic LAB 395 bought at auction for 5 dollars.

The sound is velvety and the music has a pleasant, forward quality and presence that allows effortless listening for hours, with excellent midrange.

I use this cartridge for my best quality vinyl only.
