That said, the case works better with my Beats By Dre headphones (the previous one did not support the L-shape plug in), and I've definitely dropped my phone a couple times on hard surfaces, where it certainly would have cracked but for the OtterBox.

The charge port slot flap also hinders plugging in the Lightning cable

It is also attached to much in the left corner which makes plugging in headphones a chore in itself

am afraid that with extended use, the pressure of the stiff rubber flaps against the plugs will damage the male plugs, or the female jack on the iPhone.

I remember owning an OtterBox Defender on my old iPhone 3G and it was very sturdy.
