It seems to be due to the gap in protective screen

The flexible glass screen becomes quickly mucked up with fingerprints and requires constant cleaning

But yet again my screen cracked inside of the otter box case

With little use the membrane will damage your screen permanently

And the clear screen cover part of the Otterbox scratched really fast and inhibited touch screen use

Make sure you wipe down your screen very well before applying case or else oil can get trapped between the screen and screen protector.

Very easy to *carefully* remove if you don't like it (i removed it).I also removed the whole plastic sheet that protects the screen because I had already gotten ballistic glass installed and the plastic sheet & ballistic glass combo were a hindrance to the iPhone's touch sensitivity

Initially would have given this case a 5* review, however, it has come to my attention that the thin film on the screen protector that is supposed to cover the Touch ID rubs on and damages the screen of the phone surrounding the home button.

I say surprising because the previous otterbox defenders I've purchased for previous phones had excellent screen protectors that fit snugly to the screen.

The two things that really drive me nuts about this case is that the protective screen doesn't sit flat on the glass.

Two things I really did not like about this model though are the fact that the clear screen cover really interferes with using the touch screen unless you really jam it with your finger

On the 6s this is an extra problem because of the pressure sensitive screen

I have to press very hard to swipe the screen, and it's much harder to text

I did rip off the protector screen (as it doesn't sit flush with the screen) and bought a 3rd party one you can stick on

Even after opening it completely to remove the phone and clean the screen, the static electricity built up made it very difficult to clear it all.

The main issue with this product is the crappy screen protector

After breaking my screen and having to get a $150 replacement done, I don't care that this adds a lot of extra bulk

I bought this OtterBox case to replace my original OtterBox, however the screen is not the greatest

The plastic cover that protects the screen unfortunately protects it to well

Also protect the screen from any scratches.

Don't pay $50 for a case when it fails to protect your iPhone screen and then Otterbox says they only warranty the case, not the phone.

The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star is because the plastic protective screen that covers the screen isn't perfect

I ended up removing the screen saver and placing a different screen saver which make the phone much more responsive

And the case works great but it is very easy for little things to get under the clear screen as well

Warning: It creates a smudge mark around touch ID leaving your screen permanently damaged

The reason I hate it is because the clear screen protector is too big and it doesn't lay flat on the iPhone and it makes it really hard to text plus the clear plastic they use for the button at the bottom of the phone is really cheap and bubbles up and stretches easily and looks like it may tear.

I have not cracked or scratched my screen yet and it is all thanks to this case

I bought the Otter case because on my iPhone 4s, which I had been dropped many times over its 4 year life at heights far greater than 12", never had the screen been damaged

Like most other reviewers, the plastic face on this case doesn't sit flat on the screen so, even with an "anti-glare" screen protector, there is a massive glare

Unfortunately the case was not up to my expectation, i do not know if my case was faulty or all are that way, there is a big gap between the screen protector and the i phone screen which made the touching and using of the i phone screen a horrible

Without a protection sheet on ur iPhone when you put the case on, it scratches your iPhone screen

After cracking my screen in a drop with a mophie on, changed over to this one and has protected it on one drop.

Dropped iPhone with case on and the screen was ruined.

It's bs because a $50 case is supposed to protect your screen and not RUIN IT

You can then install your favorite screen protector on your phone and then the this case.

I just shattered my own iPhone screen

I've dropped them from heights as high as 15 feet, had a bicycle land directly on the screen with the kickstand hitting it and not damage the screen whatsoever, and aside from having to take the case off every few weeks to clean the dust out from under it, they are awesome for this price.

Once in a while the screen can get a bit unresponsive

The screen becomes less sensitive so you have to press harder to execute commands on Iphone

So I ripped off the plastic Otterbox cover and instead use Tech Armor's HD Clear screen which is way better

Now, it's a harder, almost plasticky case, Too many little doors to open, and a cheap screen cover

I wish the screen was a little more responsive

I have used otterbox defender case on my iphone 4s, and was pleased with it, until I realized the case would collect dust and jam it into the then top screen lock button

Will never understand how so much crud gets under the protective screen, but over-all I am happy with my purchase

I notice some debri between the screen and protective screen today

The plastic face cover didnt hug the screen which allowed it to float up and down as I used the apps, email, etc

Pay no attention to those who claim the fingerprint doesn't work with the protective screen in place

I have been buying the defender and ripping off the screen ever since

My "solution", and I use the word loosely at best, was to take an Exacto knife and carefully excise the protective screen from both the touch screen and the button.

It comes with a screen protector that I took off, I like feeling the actual screen, and the phone kind of shakes a little in the case

The lip between the case and the screen is large enough that it will protect the screen from drop onto most surfaces, with the tradeoff being that the user experience is much better.

But my dad is happy with it, his screen won't ever shatter.

The clear protective screen is maybe a centimeter away from the phone, so you have to push really hard to use the phone at all.

If you want an otterbox go with the commuter and get a good screen protector, don't get this!!!!

It’s not as bad as the Lifeproof screen protector, but it is worse than the any other OB screen protector
