Otterbox iPhone 4 / 4S Defender Series Case

    • I disliked the flimsy outer rubber shell
    • It was a solid plastic shell that had a removable rubber coating.
    • I switched back to my old one with outer rubber portion, which is holding up quite well, but due to hard shell falling apart with zero shock makes me greatly disappointed with this
    • The hard shell on the inside lasts decently though
    • And the outter shell is sturdier.
    • (They did require a bit of jumping through hoops -- taking pictures of the case, all markings inside both the hard plastic shell AND the soft rubber wrap, etc
    • The major problem with this case is that it has flexible plastic or silicone all around that narrows down to thin strips to go around pieces of the hard plastic shell of the case
    • The plastic part that fits around the hard shell has stretched out horribly, and it constantly looks like there is water under the screen
    • The Defender series shares with the Commuter the same basic elements of silicone rubber and a very hard plastic shell--one sandwiching the other
    • I was a little surprised when I first got it because I was used to other Otterbox designs which have the soft silicone inside a hard plastic shell
    • It also prevents the use of your old iPad/phone charger and has a device installed in the hard shell that prevents charging in some situations.
    • Great product for s fair price
