The colors aren't as vivid as what you get when using ink pens or extra fine point Sharpies (which is what I prefer to use); on the other hand, you don't have to worry about ink smearing or bleeding through the paper, and sometimes that's more important.

I have loved the paper mate clear point mechanical pencils for years, so when I saw these I had to give them a try

Even though these are true fine-point pencils, I have yet to have one piece of lead break off while using it.

The downside was there is no super sharp/super fine point like they have with their wood coloring pencils.
