The only thing I'd like is a string or something to would attach the rubber cap to the drive, as it's easy to lose track of.

Patriot designs this thing with an easy to lose cap and they won't replace it for free but refers you to EBay sellers who charge $7 or so for a replacement cap

Having a shorter form factor means it won't stick out as far from whatever you plug it into (laptop, USB hub, DVR, etc.), which is almost always a good thing

Great, but that flange is also the attachment with the hole in it to attach to a keyring to avoid losing the entire thing.
