It's not an easy instrument, and sometimes the note drops a 5th or 6th note when sliding, probably due to my bad embouchure control

Then, later, introduce another trombone with minor-third tuning: a C/A instrument--also good for young students with short arms.

Overall, this instrument gets high praise and a definite recommendation from me.

My child was begging for a trombone so this was the compromise and surprisingly it is a good instrument for learning.

By default, the instrument is not very loud, but I've been able to get some brassy sounds out of it that would be loud enough to play in a band; though playing that loud would be torture on the lips.the higher the notes, the harder it is to get the volume evened out with the lower notes
