The line is clean, it writes smooth, and unlike gel pens the ink life is so much longer, you can get two of these for 96 cents at wal mart

but these did not write solid lines and the color was very dull.

I also purchased Pentel R.S.V.P. Ballpoint Pen, Medium Point, Assorted Ink Colors, 8 Pack (BK91CRBP8M), which I feel is a better set of pens for using on stationery or note cards, since the medium point creates a fuller, richer line of ink on the paper, for better legibility.

They produce a consistent line every time and they are cheap

My writing is pretty illegible, but the fine line this puts to the page makes it look better.

Good pen, great color, however it's not as dark and smooth as I prefer.
