I use them with INCRA rules and find that the pointed shape of this pencil makes hitting the right hole easier

It will not poke a hole in your pockets (if you retract it, which takes no time to do), and it's mechanically sound

the lead would easily break off in my pocket, the plastic parts could get damaged, and the points would either poke holes in the pockets (not nice when it's a leather jacket), or poke holes in me when I reached in to get them.

The clip doubles as part of the clicker so that the point retracts before you can stab a hole into your chest

No longer will I stab holes in pockets

This means that you're able to retract the tip when you're storing it, which helps prevent damage to the tip as well as accidental damage (read: holes) in whatever you're storing it

Also, the fragile tip recesses when you put it in your pocket, so you don't poke holes in your clothes or damage the tip.

The one problem with this feature is that a couple of times something in my pocket has pressed the button to extend the tip, and then the sharp tip punches a little hole in the pocket
