but every other DVD-r that I've burned (some more than 10 years old now) still work unless they've been in wet environments (high humidity) high heat (like leaving them in your car)or been spilled on.

the dvd-r or dvd+r aint worth buying...do not buy this brand of blank dvds

I don't know a great deal about how or why DVD-R's work, but I do know that some create more coasters than others.
