Although this could be considered a pro for some people, I have heard it (ink) disappears if you leave it in a hot car for an example

Only drawback is losing your writing if you expose the paper to heat, like sitting a hot drink on your paper or leaving in a hot car

But, I left them in a hot car one day and can no longer use them

Just keep your notebook in a hot car, or your notes will disappear (you can make them reappear by putting the notebook in the freezer if needed).

One issue though, if you leave your writing in a hot car the ink may disappear.

I've heard that writings left in heat (hot car) will disappear and if put in fridge will return to normal, but I haven't experience that or attempted to try it

Only discovered one problem with the pins, since they erase by the heat of friction, if left in a really hot car, or a coffee cup placed on top of a note, the ink will vanish.
