I tried on a couple different books and it worked on both!

It does not erase at all, it even ended up messing up my books and notes

Erasers did not work, they smeared the text and ruined my book

but they can damage books.

these are great for your text books, but if you rub to hard to remove you end up smearing the print and ruin the book

If you're very careful you can stick some books into the microwave and erase most of, if not all, the highlights
