It is for this reason I got the medium, but that is just my personal preference, many enjoy the feel of Pilots extra sharp lines that come from the small nib

Pilot is a Japanese company, and they require finer lines.

ps if you want an even sharper line or just a spare nib purchase a pilot penmanship with the extra fine then swap them.

To truly get an extra fine line, you need to be using top quality paper.

I thought the ink pen laid down a pretty wet line that showed some bad feathering, but did not completely bleed through the paper.
