I honestly think a lot of fountain pens are bulky or gaudy but this pen is absolutely sublime I love the way it looks

but sometimes i find that the converter that the pen comes with does not fill all the way and also sometimes the pen will leak excess ink through the nib

It writes extra fine, the way I like it, and the ink flow is smooth.

The five stars do NOT mean that the Pilot Metropolitan is the equal of pens at three and four times the price, but it's good enough to be the only pen necessary for people with student loans, and it's an excellent way to find out if you lake fountain pens.

Me, however, I've come to prefer the way that more "Modern" pens such as the Platinum Plaisir effortlessly glides across any paper as if it were a Pen-Ninja

This probably something everyone who uses fountain pens knows, but since this was my first fountain, I learned the hard way.

The grip is nice and wide, so my hand doesn't cramp up as much as it would with your basic Bic

Smooth as can be and getting better the more I use it

The nib is a joy, thin to my tastes, with an almost impossible to miss sweet spot

The pen feels great in the hand and extended writing sessions are not so fatiguing as with my super fat cigar shaped fountain pens, which I also love

I think this, plus a very fine emory board will make it just about perfect as the nib itself is still a little rough under magnification
