• Reviews around bass (3.36 of 5)

Pioneer SP-FS52 Andrew Jones Designed Floor standing Loudspeaker (each)

    • Rich bass, midrange and tweeter tones.
    • I have a large 20’x20’ room with 12’ ceilings and hard wood floors; the bass just gets lost
    • The bass is is fantastic for the 5-1/4-inch woofer size, it packs a punch
    • The bass is unimpressive, muddy, and the mid-range and high end also lack clarity -
    • I get decent bass, without my landlord complaining.
    • The bass is decent.
    • Good bass.
    • Will the bass rattle your rib cage
    • Bass and highs are perfect
    • you might want to add a subwoofer if you really want alot of bass, but they have adequate bass for most songs
    • Excellent bass and overall quality sound
    • Bass is nonexistent, sound overall is what I'd describe as 'tinny.'
    • Powering these with a Cambridge Audio Topaz AM10 and easily driving them to 90db with clean deep bass, engaging midrange and sweet treble
    • and then you have to use subwoofer for them to have a decent bass
    • The bass probably won't blow you away, but if your subwoofer happens to die on you, you probably wouldn't miss it much when playing with these, if you can run them without your receiver's highpass crossover set too high.
    • These have good bass but nothing close to to what a sub will give you, if you don't get a sub you will more then likely regret not getting one.
    • All in all, they're a great set of speakers, and I'm happy with them, but if you already have a nice sounding setup, you may not notice any improvement aside from better bass response if you're coming from satellites such as myself.
    • I thought the deep bass might have been a touch lacking, but as the speakers break in, it seems to working itself about
    • Not the best bass response but my subwoofer compensates for that
    • I get them any closer than 48" to the front wall, bass becomes too heavy and loses detail, sound stage depth collapses and loses focus.
    • The bass was good, a bit muddy.
    • The bass doesn't seem lacking, but the mids are definitely where these things shine
    • Nice clear highs and good bass response.
    • The bass is strong and clear, the highest frequencies are crisp and without distortion, and the voices also very clear and distinct.
    • Bass is decent, but I may have these too far out into the room.
    • The amplifier has a sub out, which imho is not necessary as these floorstanders give me incredible bass for music reproduction
    • It's all there, but the bass isn't especially powerful without turning it up on the EQ
    • I get decent bass, without my landlord complaining.
    • I will not get technical with the receiver specifications, but if you listen to anything from Norah Jones, to Andrea Bocelli, to The Egles, to Lynynd Skynyrd, be ready for a tight, smooth bass, vocals as if you were first row and warm, not ear piercing highs
    • There was ok bass, but I like the highs too: cymbals, horns, keyboards, pianos
    • Great Bass
    • MB42x mid range is overshadowed by its exaggerated high, the bass caused resonance within the cabinet and loss the composure, its high resolution is fine though
    • The mid-range and high notes are excellent, but the bass is not impressive.
    • Great all around sound for movies and musicSurprisingly strong bass response, may be good enough to run without sub for moviesTowers and center channel look great with
    • The bass is lacking, or was
    • I enjoy the bass more than the high-frequencies
    • They have good bass by themselves, but a subwoofer definitely helps them get deeper for movie special effects
    • Bass is amazing for the size
    • I have them as Left and Right front speakers, and I also have 2 subs in the room, so bass is not an issue for these
    • so Bass wasn't an issue for me
    • Unbelievable bass from these things
    • Great bass, amazing highs, and great mids
    • I like my music to sound as realistic as
