It's a very defined sweet spot with abrupt boundaries.

If you bow well, things operate smooth as silk, but a bad bow stroke will throw things totally out of whack until you correct the problem and the string "snaps" into its sweet spot.

Since these strings have a "sweet spot" behavior, this may be due to my bowing technique
