I love my PSVita

The PSVita is great, especially if you like Japanese games or Western Indie games

However this doesn't even degrade the quality feeling of the product and you'll probably want to leave the X/O button config alone since it'll end up affecting the controls of games which will work the same as if it's a US configured Vita
