Sure, it takes up a valuable USB slot but the difference between this and a WiFi adapter is night and day in my opinion in that direct connection to the router is faster and much more stable.

It pretty much had the same connection speed as my WiFi connection (802.11ac), it was a little less than 1 MB/s slower.
