This is a very reliable, cheap and private storage solution for all kinds of data files and will usually play video files directly from drive.

In my particular case this does not really matter, because this will live attached to the RPi, but you should be aware of this flaw if you plan to use it as portable storage and will carry it in your pocket.

Works as it should, but recommend sticking with USB 3.0 drives as I forgot just how much slower a USB 2.0 drive was until I needed to toss about 26GB of files on it.
