Instead, I think I'll purchase one of those Western Digital external hard drives as a backup

I used this to replace my bad iPod drive.

Since it only has a 32G IC-chip hard drive, I added this 128G chip into the SD slot & use it as a software/storage drive.

Its like adding an extra hard drive to my ultra book.

It is funny to think that these little guys hold more than my first hard drive did.

Copying files to/from it seems about as fast as from my hard drives.

So, I'm using this to store all of my photos and music which frees up my faster internal drive for more demanding tasks
