Not the best microphone

A couple of the main stay of all worthwhile recording microphones are Neumann 87's AKG 414's EV RE 20's, Telefunken and others

what I know now if I were purchasing a microphone for an amateur singer like my daughter I would personally look for a dynamic microphone

This microphone will work with a sound card, but not as well as it will work with proper phantom power because being a larger diaphragm microphone, it's power requirements are higher

I own some of the classics, that are today very expensive microphones

I would definitely recommend this if you are in need for a hassle free microphone.

I wasted money on this as I was specifically looking to buy a "dynamic microphone" and was attempting to avoid condenser microphones

All of that being said, I welcome this microphone as a very useful new addition to my recording "tool

Dynamic microphones do not require phantom power (power to the microphone through the XLR input).

The packaging the microphone comes in even says condenser microphone, not dynamic microphone as the title states
