It's made out of pretty cheap plastic.

Just this morning I pulled it out of the cupboard, and picked it up and the weight of the griddle caused this cheap plastic handle to break

Heat seamed to distribute evenly... my concern is that the plastic is cheap and brittle

After 6 months both plastic handles broke.

I love not having all the plastic around the edge.

The plastic for the grease tray is kind of cheap, I accidentally dropped it out of the box and it chipped

Overall, there are no cold spots, just a few areas around the edges where it gets very warm, but not as hot as in the center
