Make sure you use a proper color pencil sharpener.

I was extremely excited since my experience with Prismacolor products has generally been a good one, and I thought that erasable colored pencils would be fantastic for sketching

I'd say these pencils wear away just as slowly as kids' colored pencils like Crayola, but with stronger colors and equally strong lead, if not stronger considering how easily I can get them to a fine point (that may be due to wood quality and perfect centering considering the strength of the colors)
