I got the separate backpack straps but didn't like then very much, I prefer to carry it by the handle, which is well padded and comfortable to hold.
its strong, neat and very well padded on the inside so your horn does not jostle around, it is secure.

He had recently bought a vintage tenor sax without a case and is very happy now to have proper protection for it.
That said, the added heft will probably also translate to a longer lifespan and better protection of the instrument under heavy use... which this case will not really see
