I've been using this to recharge my portable spare power/battery -- it charges very fast and doesn't tangle up like many other brands I've tried.

I bought it to charge my portable battery bank, for charging smart phones and such

This has been an excellent replacement charger for both my portable battery pack and my Samsung Galaxy S3

Its not as lighteninhg fast as others I have used that came with much more expensive battery packs but that may be due to the battery itself, not this AC unit

Beware as it has the potential to ruin your Samsung Galaxy S3 and possibly cause a fire depending upon WHERE the phone is placed during the "charging" session!!!

So it works exactly as you want - my only gripe is the orientation of the blades - if you're plugging into a multi-strip, unless you get the socket on the end you'll be taking up space for 2 sockets!
