Pins poke out dents on the aluminized back of the board but the frame keeps it far enough away from the wall to prevent contact with the wall.

The frame needs some extra support to stiffen it up if you are going to take it on and off the wall on a regular basis.

Working out of a home office I can decorate with nice framed pictures and such on the main walls, but at the same time have a very functional bulletin board that sits low on the wall just above my desktop.

The included screws and braces make it pretty easy to install, and pretty secure, although since it hangs only via these braces at the top, the bottom isn't flush with the wall, and so when I insert thumb tacks, it has some play that makes it feel not quite a permanent fixture

In actuality, having the installer drill the holes provides for greater flexibility in the installation process (for example, if a hole you drilled in a concrete classroom wall was off by a tiny amount, the holes on the board can be adjusted accordingly).So, I like the product; I am just surprised that the size is misrepresented.

I needed a long, narrow bulletin board and saw this item elsewhere on the net for $40 and up, so this is a great price for a high quality, wood-framed cork bulletin board

The size of this board is great and you can use it horizontally or vertically.

I had no problem pushing standard push-pins all the way in to the cork-covered board material (a cheap fiberboard)
