This is a really solid mount, but the "flexible" shaft is actually just a solid aluminum bar you have to bend.

The clamps held the bar and ball joint really well but this product just didn't work for my iPad mini

It took a decent amount of work/flexing to straighten the bar out using a vice and clamps to make it usable
