just connect the near end to your tv with a standard co-axial cable plug, hang the far end up on the wall and away you go

The UHF antenna STILL might not be in completely, but think the real problem is the two ends that are supposed to go into the base are just a bit too long for them to go in any further.

so if you live in a single family dwelling you might consider drilling a tiny hole in the ceiling and hanging the far end up in the attic.btw for modern DTV channels you don't really need the rabbit-ears part of this antenna, just the UHF-loop part
