Dang, this thing is ugly, but does a fantastic job of picking up OTA HD channels, even without the antennas full extended.

i also discovered, following a tip i uncovered on the instructables website, that a length of standard co-axial cable, with the insulation and outer shielding stripped off the last seven or eight inches at the far end, leaving just the inner center wire sticking out, will do almost as good a job as any antenna for local signals

For $10 you cannot beat the value of this basic indoor Antenna which does a super job to pick up all the OTA signals from the networks + PBS + ION with very good picture quality.
