RCA ANT1650F Flat Digital Amplified Indoor TV Antenna

    • It's frustrating because a clear signal will come in for one channel, but I have to move it 5 feet for a different channel to come in.
    • I think the problem is a weak signal amplifier
    • I get at least 10 channels very clear, but on a cloudy day I loose signal often, if it came with an amplifier would probably work better, but it is free TV so way worth purchasing, especially for a TV not used often
    • Nice look, but does not get good signal.
    • I don't know if it's because of all the crazy weather that Im having such trouble finding a consistent signal or if that
    • My apartment is in lower floor of a 3 storey building and I do not have a strong signal
    • I get at least 10 channels very clear, but on a cloudy day I loose signal often, if it came with an amplifier would probably work better, but it is free TV so way worth purchasing, especially for a TV not used often
    • I think the HDHR3-US has less signal conditioning than my TV, and I think it requires a stronger signal because it splits the signal across two tuners
    • No matter where I post it, I often lose the signal
    • the signal is not very steady.
    • This station has a really weak broadcasting signal
    • Now I wish it was the Winegard long range antenna or a strong OTA signal amplifier capable of 0-35 db combination
    • Signal weak
    • I am sure the signal would be easier to achieve if we mounted it high on
    • Ever since Time Warner Cable has made public access channels to digital-only I lost my TV signal
    • I tried hiding it behind the tv but the signal got worse.
    • The set up was easy and once I stuck it in the window, the signal came through very clear.
    • Disconnecting the amplifier you definitely notice a difference - some channels have a weaker signal coming through
    • Had to setup the antenna on the window still to get any good signals, though
    • I had to moved it around quite a bit to get the best signal.
    • Signal gets quite cranky sometimes
    • Set up was easy and quick and the antenna works well with string signals, but is not the greatest with weaker signals.
    • The annenna worked, however it was limited in the number of channels and its signal was always weak which caused the picture to come in and out.
    • The only one I don't pick up is a religious channel with a weak signal
    • when joined they conflicted with each other and completely obliterated any signal.
    • Receives all of the local TV stations which good strong signal strength.
    • Did not fulfill its function, signal seems very sensitive and extremely weak if you're on a huge metropolitan area
    • I used the included powered amplifier to make sure I got the best signal, and even split the signal to 2 TVs
    • and we have weak signal here
    • We were hoping this antenna would have been a fix to the poor TV signal's for both TV's
    • In fact, the signal I am getting with this antenna is better than the cable reception I was getting (I didn't have HD cable.)
    • Just sitting in the room and slightly moving your arm or head for that fact, the signal will degrade or go away causing no signal error
    • But its poor and you need to be at least 15 miles or less from the station transmitters to get a decent signal.
    • I have ordered an outdoor antenna which hopefully will give a better signal.
    • I live in an area that doesn't get the best signals but this antenna provides me with the channels I seek on a regular basis.
    • If you think you will get a good signal by not using the amplifier, you are mistaken.
    • I am really impressed, i use it in my Camper and we can get a signal with this when our antenna receives nothing and the signal is much better
    • Also, if you are not getting a good signal, phone the Help Center
    • Scanned and found 40 channels but gave only 2 with sufficient signal strength (1 HD and 1 digital).
    • Bought this antenna about a year ago when I ditched cable and needed a reliable signal for HD local broadcasts.
    • - I get about 10 channels in an area which has very poor signal.
    • I tried different configurations but was resigned to expect just a weak signal.
    • If you want a more consistent signal and more channels then stick with cable
    • Adding this amplified version cleaned up the signal on a number of stations, and we have almost no issues with them now
    • It pulls in all local channels with good signal strength.
    • There is a clear improvement, but we still lose signal at times.
    • I have tried many other antennas from department stores and have always delt with jumpy signals everytime a car drove by
    • It's easy to instal and the signal is good
    • Happened on random times, even the major stations like CBS or NBC with stronger signal are affected.
    • I wanted the biggest bang for the buck but the truth is that cheap rabbit ears through a cheap signal amp worked better - with the cheap rabbit ears and amp, I used to get channel 11 here in mn
    • It has to be out in the widow to get a good signal
    • I had a cable wire stripped at one end B4 and got a better signal than this junkie Antenna gave me
    • I wondered if this might get stronger signals than the Radio Shack rabbit ear
    • Works great as long as you are in an area with signals available
    • Need to move it around a bit to find a better signal, but so far works great with my HDTV 3D Smart Tv.
    • My tv still loose signal every now and then.
    • Picks up great signal for fox cbs and nbc in a south-facing window in somerville MA
    • It helped provide better signal for 5 to 6 channels.
    • easy to install, great price and excellent signal
    • With my rabbit ears, not only did I have to place them in ugly positions (with the antennas becoming obstacles to avoid when walking around), but the signal was very sensitive to where people were standing in the room
    • It loses the signal with every pedestrian or car passing by.
    • Fortunately I had an digital cable distribution amplifier (left behind by a cable provider) that I was able to use in its place -- that made a big difference, boosting signal strength up to 30%, without distorting already strong signals.
    • For anyone trying out this kind of indoor antenna, please note that digital TV will not come in unless you get a clear signal.
    • This product works fine but it seemed to lose the signal several times a day
    • It worked fine I have to find the right angle for some channels I hate when that happens but it worked well signal comes in clear enough.
    • but you have to put it upright and rotate to right direction of strongest signal in your area
    • It was less prone to loosing the signal than was the previous powered antenna.
    • Although there are not a great many OTA signals available in my area, the major stations came in quite clearly.
    • However, we cannot get any signal whatsoever for CBS and have often lost NBC.
    • Get good signal from 17 miles away.
    • Weak signal
    • Could not get a signal good enough to watch all of the local channels in my area
    • so i don't lose signal
    • We are approximately 25 miles from our local TV station's broadcast towers and this antenna receives the signals perfectly (as well as a number of channels I have no idea where they are coming from)
    • Heavy storms do interrupt the signal a little bit.
    • Also, the signal is interrupted briefly if you walk past the antenna so you don't want to put it in a high traffic area
    • Other than that, it picks up the signal pretty well and I am able to get every available channel in San Francisco, but that's not really saying that much since it's a dense urban setting
    • The rca antenna picks up a stronger signal and found more channels but still had some brief losses
    • didn't get a decent signal no matter where I positioned the TV or antenna.
    • if i walk by it and the tv, it will lose signal for a few moments and then go back to normal
    • Very powerful signal catcher and would highly recommend it to anyone.
    • This one time I got a really good signal of FOX but every time I moved the signal stopped
    • I went back to the old rabbit ears that can at least be redirected and adjusted to receive the best signals possible.
    • 2nd day after purchasing, did not get the CBS station I was watching the night before - didn't move the antenna, didn't touch it... and it's not getting a weak signal, it can't find a signal on that frequency.
    • Finally--the quality of your reception depends on how far you are away from the tower of course, but in my situation, I could only get a good signal by placing the antenna flat on the wall.
    • Requires a little adjusting the position to get a good signal, but really not a problem.
    • I am not able to get a consistent signal on ABC because the tower is too far away, but the rest are great!!
    • It works, good signal reception.
    • I've tried multiple antennas in an effort to get the best/strongest signal into my home
    • I used the included powered amplifier to make sure I got the best signal, and even split the signal to 2 TVs
    • I replaced a RCA 1450 with this one, in a hope to get slightly better signal, because according to RCA this one is a better antenna, I don't think I can see a difference but since the price of the two are very close, I went with this larger model
    • The local channels would freeze or come in unclear even though the website said we would have the strongest signal in our area
    • Finally, once all work was done and had my preferred channels setup and working, all I needed to do was to seat back and enjoy the amazing high definition signals coming from this antenna
    • Although I can watch many channels with perfect reception (4 stars) I still get the annoying "weak signal and lost channel" messages on many other ones
    • It provided good signal, but I was unable to place because of its weight and thickness, and the short cable.
    • and it was shaky at best in terms of locating a good signal and frequently I had to rotate it to another direction to catch a different group of channels.
    • So I went with this radical design and the signal on my LG HDTV jumped from 55% Normal (were it froze, dropped out or no signal at all) to 80% Good,
    • It is very frustrating to be at the pinnacle of the story line and the TV screen turns blue because the signal is lost.
    • kind of poor signal
    • Only received a couple of stations and the signal kept breaking up
    • Did not out perform cheaper model, still very positional to aquire good signal and then not much difference in reception.
    • The main problem with this antenna is that even when I got a solution for the cable problems, sticking this antenna up to the window still doesn't get me enough signal.
    • It is easier to place in areas of the room that rabbit ears won't fit, but the signal isn't any better than what we had and we do have to turn the antenna in different directions to get some of the channels available in our area (like the multi-directional function is just an advertising ploy).
    • I think the HDHR3-US has less signal conditioning than my TV, and I think it requires a stronger signal because it splits the signal across two tuners
    • I don't know if it's because of all the crazy weather that Im having such trouble finding a consistent signal or if that
    • I get at least 10 channels very clear, but on a cloudy day I loose signal often, if it came with an amplifier would probably work better, but it is free TV so way worth purchasing, especially for a TV not used often
    • Light weight slim modern design, but I still lose the signal
    • The signal I'm receiving is stronger too so a windy day won't create choppy reception
    • Remember digital signals either work
    • This will allow you to rotate it to get the best signal possible
    • Great HDTV signal reception
    • but I have another one that is a different brand that pulls in a better signal.
    • If you think this unit will give you a good signal from any direction, you are mistaken.
    • It doesn't pick up any more channels than the rabbit ears i was using but it gets a better signal
    • I have a small Channel Master outside antenna, several times while watching TV, there would be what I call a, "Hic-up", where the signal is interrupted for a second or two
    • Final setup entailed splitting the combined signals with another combiner/splitter and routing the two cables to the two TVs in the house.
    • If you think you will get a good signal with it lying flat, you are mistaken.
    • Did not receive a good signal
    • I used it on multiple TV's and it doesn't always get great signal or all the channels but it is good to have just in case you have no cable or satellite
    • Did not catch a good signal
    • excellent signal.
    • I'll be experimenting to see if I can get a better signal
    • Like other reviews i found stronger signal strength when it was laying flat, but connected to more signals when hanging on the wall
    • Being a long time cable subscriber, I was hesitant about downsizing and getting an antenna, particularly since I live in the south, surrounded by trees which can hinder the signal
    • In my house, signals are weak, only 2-4 channels come in clear and consistent
    • Haven't had much problem with weak signals like I sometimes have with another antenna I have.
    • I still get lots of drops and frozen digital signal with this unit
    • I couldn't ask for a better signal, and I'm loving all the money I'm saving by cutting my cable off.
    • Until recently, I could use this antenna for all of my TVs in the house by splitting the signal with satellite signal.
    • I tried to hide it right behind the tv but the signal got pretty weak.
    • RCA has completely misjudged how people will have to use this product or they have over estimated how good signals are to people's homes
    • but, I did have to turn it, slightly, to get a better signal, for one channel.
    • Good for a one tv setup, if you split the signal for other tvs, some channels are dropped
    • The only down side was that I lived near the green line in boston and every time the train went by, the electrical interference disturbed the signal
    • I had one without amplifier , so this one defiantly betterI got more channels , and more stable signal for existing channels
    • Some channels still get some static interference here and there but my TV set definitely shows a stronger signal strength for all channels (my HDTV displays the signal strength)
    • It is difficult to get steady signal for all the stations
    • The signal is quite clear
    • At first, the technician tried to hide it behind my TV's wall mount but the signal would get interrupted
    • The signal is much more robust now
    • When I do get a good signal it works great
    • works good but needs to be placed in a window or some place where it can pick up a good signal.
    • After some research found out that at times the booster will impede a signal.
    • Very good antenna, clear signal on the
    • Haven't had any issues getting a signal living 20 minutes from the city.
    • This one pulls in most of the stations except channel 2, also on rainy says, the signal is weaker
    • It might pull in reception for a little while in just the right location, turned just the right way, then it would lose the signal and I would have to move it again
    • The antenna picks up the digital signal great without even using the amplifier.
    • While it is possible that I don't have enough signal at the ground level for my TV, I have a hard time believing that since my DTV Antenna on the roof has anywhere from 90% to 100% signal on all of my local channels.
    • I live in a suburb of Denver, CO that has extremely weak digital signals
    • Great signal with HDTV amplified
    • Sometimes I could get a decent signal, but it wasn't reliable
    • It did not work for us even though after doing lots of research it should have worked and picked up the signal no problem
    • and I have determined that I must be a little bit too close to the hill to get a proper signal
    • Our existing RCA non-amplified antenna would pick up most stations if we elevated it, but the signal wasn't consistent
    • We had an TV Antenna with those long 'stick' on it: ugly, always rotating them around to find a signal, easy to bend, etc. etc
    • It took about 25 minutes to find the best spot in my TV setup for it, but once I did I get flawless HD signal on all of the stations that broadcast off of the antenna farm (CBS, NBC, PBS, ABC and Fox) and even get near-flawless signal off of the ION affiliate in the area that broadcasts more than 25 miles away
    • Good signal but need to adjust signal direction to make picture clear since all tv stations have different signal directions.
    • I doubt seriously that the signal drops to unusable for that last 20'.So, this product could be made usable for most people by 1 simple change of making the coax cables detachable
    • When I walked away, it lost the signal
    • If you have an excellent signal, yes the antenna will work, however don't count on this to be any better than a cheap pair of rabbit ears.
    • The channels that do lag I just had to move the antenna a little bit to find a better spot
    • did n to work
    • I was disappointed why it did not work as it is discrip.
    • Take my advice, run from the RCA as fast as you can, and put that same $34 into a Leaf.
    • The overall reception is about twice as good as with rabbitt ears regarding consistancy of signal, but really no more channels than with rabbitt ears, though less need for moving the antenna around.
    • The sound doesn't break up, and the picture doesn't freeze as it did with the RCA.
    • I don't think it works any better than, or maybe even as well as, rabbit ears.
    • picture clarity is as good as with cable.
