    Red Dead Redemption

    • no chaos to create beyond textbook GTA stuff and almost no sense of freedom besides tapping A for 10 minutes then in the singleplayer the horses are slow enough as it is so during quests you will have to hold
    • Go online and look up glitches, countless glitches have been exposed on Youtube, and while some are funny, such as a human horse, others are just annoying
    • The horse can stay at the same pace and hug the road while you aim and pick off outlaws (or unknowing civilians)
    • no need/thrill to stealing a horse or killing an innocent person, like you'd want to do in GTA
    • (GTA vets will be right at home) the only thing that took a bit of getting used to was riding a horse, its not bad, just a bit different than a car in terms of handling.
    • and you don't need all 15 horses, just 3 best
    • It encompasses all aspect of a Western from the desert 1 horse towns to the borders of Mexico and up into the rocky snowy hills
    • The horse is a little hard to steer/control
    • While horses are fun to ride, and you can find a neat one you like, they can be a serious pain
    • Lawmen might be chasing down an escaped criminal, a husband might as you to help his kidnapped wife, someone might try to steal your horse, and dozens more
    • To date, my favorite horses to grab (either via corral or some hapless rider) are the Paints and the Gray/
    • Other than missions, there are a few mini games such as poker, blackjack, liar's dice, arm wrestling, etc..., and jobs you can do at different locations (either breaking horses, or night watch jobs)
    • Want a better horse
    • You can steal horses and coaches
    • As the skinning cut scene started, the horse whinnied and fell stone dead, passing right through me as it did so
    • Either the horse would die, or I couldn't catch up to the other character.
    • career! The targeting with the weapons is great, the control when you are riding the horses is excellent, and the ease with which you can change weapons is terrific!
    • Horse is fine, but slow
    • My first horse died when we fell off a ledge because I couldn't see the drop in front of me
    • there is absolutely no context ambiguity left for the player to solve, which completely wastes the openness of the sand box game format.6. the "tutorials" for game specific skills or situations, such as how to "draw" during a gunfight, rope a horse or use the "red dead" time slowdown, appear inconveniently as text instructions in the upper left corner of the screen: as you read your opponent in the gunfight has drawn his gun or the horse has run and, well, tutorial over
    • You can help clear bandit hideouts and engage in shooting contests, or you can just ride around on your horse (there are more than 20 different horses in the game) and enjoy the breadth of the countryside that Rockstar obviously put ALOT of time into (my favorite thing to do besides hunting)
    • Breaking your own horse was fun, the first 20 times
    • As you ride through the plains, you'll see coyotes hunting rabbits, wolves chasing deer, wild horses running free, buzzards circling the dead.
    • If Fallout 3 was "Oblivion with guns", it wouldn't be too crazy to say Red Dead Redemption is "Grand Theft Auto in the Old West" or "Grand Theft Horse"
    • The world of red dead redemption is a unpredictable one, you'll find many stranger who will challenge you to a duel, ask you to save there wives, try to steal your horse and even attemp to kill you
    • It'd be more challenging if you lost your horse you couldn't always just call a new one, and instead had to find, break or steal
    • I’m not sure this is a glitch or if your horse is just plain unreliable
    • As you ride through the plains, you'll see coyotes hunting rabbits, wolves chasing deer, wild horses running free, buzzards circling the dead.
    • Through out the game you'll find yourself preoccupied with a ton of stuff to do such as playing poker, liars dice, black jack, horse shoes, being the night watch, breaking horses, completing a wide variety of challenges including gathering plants, hunting animals and treasure, sharp shooter challenges
    • The world is also rather huge, and as for transportation, well horses and carriages are obvious, but I was surprised to find a mission where you ride in an automobile, you can use the carriages to ride quickly to the different towns and settlements, or ride on horseback across the vast lawless plains
    • The Open World of the territory is beautiful; a dangerous place, but pretty all the same.- I love the "customization" options regarding picking horses
    • IMO its easily the best horse riding in the entire history of videogames
    • Several outfits to choose from and perform in game tasks to unlock more, play poker, blackjack, break wild horses, bring in criminals dead or alive, decide wheter or not to help strangers with certain tasks such as; return stolen money to a shopkeeper, return a stolen horse, duel against strangers, help local law enforcement find missing people and hunt down criminals with large posses, and several great choices for weapons, you can buy and sell at general stores, doctors offices, and gunsmiths, etc.
    • And those who got this game from BestBuy got the War Horse which is the strongest and fastest horse in the game
    • One great way to waste time is to ride a horse out into the wilderness and kill and skin animals (dear, wild horses, birds, coyotes and more).I
    • Lassoing and breaking wild horses
    • Horse is fine, but slow
    • You start out doing basic missions that involve herding cattle and breaking horses
    • This is accomplished by adding in a lot of wildlife (all of which can be hunted; you can even go catch and tame wild horses!), a system that introduces the player to random but dynamic encounters (for instance, you may find while riding along a road in the middle of nowhere that a gang is lynching someone on a nearby tree; you can choose to save the person or move on), and the stranger system (these are NPCs marked with a special icon on the minimap who provide Marston with special tasks to complete--simple, nonessential missions). The controls are still just as unresponsive as they were in GTAIV
    • No more running into lampposts, cars or pedestrians but just riding your horse into the sunset while enjoying the view rather than escaping obstacles, simply outstanding!Mini games were very entertaining, I even bought the Pirates of the Carribean's Dice boardgame after enjoying Liar's Dice in game
    • In one place, I had four of them piled up dead on top of my dead horse.
    • I'll say that prostitute stole my horse and made me fail the missionoverall it may be expensive but its worth every penny of the sixty dollars i payed for it
    • Instead of cars like GTA you can steal horses
    • You'll see herds of buffalo, packs of wolves, wild horses, and loads more
    • : The Dog I follow around the ranch, and how he is everywhere you go(he even plays fetch in the town w/people...); the 'remedies' movie; the hooker who screamed she needed help, then tried to steal my horse, calling me 'green'(she didn't make it far
    • You get several new horses and weapons to use (The expansions are good too)The game definitely has some mature content including nudity/sex and language but for adults - this game is a good buy and a great gift for the holidays.
    • I'm less than 30 minutes into the game, and already have had several graphical glitches (One even during the opening cutscene!), and several glitches that have required a restart of the game/console (including the video freezing to a static image, my horse going forward forever into the ground, and graphical problems leading to an
    • One of the game's first missions is a pointless horse race that just took all the fun out of playing.
    • act shocked if he decides to steal a horse and pick up old western-style prostitutes.
    • No cars but horses to ride on, not that bad actually
    • Your horse will die at least once
    • You can ride your horse free like the wind!
    • And even if you master the controls, the horse's motion is so clunky that you won't be able to ride a hundred feet without the horse running into something or getting stuck somewhere
    • Disappearing characters, invisible horses and creatures, and randomly being dropped from the game.
    • Horse-breaking, arm-wrestling, hunting, horse shoes, poker, blackjack, liar's dice, bounty hunting, treasure hunting, horse racing.
    • also there is a lot of crude humor i could have done without like a guy shooting projectile tape worms,a guy humping a tree,a guy who loves his horse more than he should,a guy who keeps his dead wife around and interacts with her like she's real, showing a horses genitals etc one of the greatest things that happened was when they showed this girl's entire nude front.yes that included the aura/nipple area and the beaver fur
    • Breaking horses in RDR is fun and satisfying
    • riding horse not as fun as GTA.
    • This is nothing more the Grand Theft Auto on horseback ,pointless missions like rounding up cattle an horses
    • no chaos to create beyond textbook GTA stuff and almost no sense of freedom besides tapping A for 10 minutes then in the singleplayer the horses are slow enough as it is so during quests you will have to hold
    • You can break and tame wild horses
    • Great horse animation and some very lifelike character models
    • The best horse mechanic that has been seen in a long time
    • I enjoy a pleasant horse ride and stop to greet the kind citizens in each town.
    • You can catch and break wild horses
    • You ride a horse to get around for the most part, and you can go out into the wilderness and lasso and then break another horse through a little minigame if you so choose
    • Just yesterday I ended up wanted because my horse was slow to stop and ran into a lawman, who took that as "assaulting a lawman" and opened fire on me
    • There are also other tasks to perform, such as collecting bounties, capturing and breaking wild horses, running night patrol missions, and engaging in good old fashioned duels at high noon in the middle of the main street of town
    • if you like riding horses and staring at sun sets go outside and save $60.most overrated game ever played
    • Beautiful horses to rope and break, plenty of weapons from the period,
    • For me at least, herding cows and horses is just not fun.
    • So you're stuck riding a slow horse around a gigantic map
    • Inexplicable horse deaths
    • Textures dissappeared (I never saw my weapons or my horse...riding an invisible horse is a bit odd), the connections were really bad, and my game crashed.
    • So I get off my horse to pick a flower and some wolves threaten me
    • It has some minor glitches and control issues such as horses randomly falling to their deaths and characters dissapearing on screen that keep it far from perfect
    • What really surprised me is how well the horse mechanics worked
    • Only the coats of the animals are provided as a means to tell the different breeds apart, so unless you're a horse nut (and maybe not even then -- I can't speak for whether or not these visual cues translate), it's going to be completely up to some luck and your own sense of speed to determine whether the shiny new horse from MacFarlane's Ranch is better than the one you broke over in Brennigan's Stead
    • Nice try R*. Next time.
