• Reviews around mission (2.20 of 5)

    Red Dead Redemption

    • There are challenges, stranger missions, gang hideouts, and bounties to be captured or killed.
    • I really truly enjoyed the game, but the missions get repetitive.
    • Just like GTA you have many missions and side mission you can go on, The shooting mechanics are actually a bit more forgiving than in GTAIV and one thing I have noted early on is that you have to plan a little more when attacking a large group of enemies especially since in these times you don't have RPGs, grenades and hi tech sniper guns
    • There are ways to fail missions that make no sense and cannot be avoided unless you know about them.
    • Just finished the game.-Amazing Story-Tons of missions-Beautiful landscape-Incredible detailThe ending is
    • Add in challenges for hunting, treasure finding, flower picking, and the amazing stranger missions, and you have a world that you will want to explore every last pixel of
    • The missions are like any other sandbox game, hey lets go kill these guys, hey give me a ride, but this game is so much more than just the story
    • The story moves quite slowly at some parts, and for a while you do missions for people you might not really like, and wonder why Marston puts up with so much
    • The missions, side missions, and challenges are all great, most of which involve killing/capturing someone, but there are a few card games, horse races, and other distractions sprinkled in to keep it varied
    • You need to deal with a cast of misfits and shady characters to accomplish your mission.
    • After failing the mission 15 times I took the game out and threw it in the trash.
    • The earlier missions are a bit dull, and the controls are not the most responsive, but this game really grows into something epic.
    • The scenery is beautiful, and missions are fun.
    • You get a few missions whereas similar to GTA, they are unforgiving and you have to be near perfect to complete it
    • Though it is sad, thelast stranger mission will give you satisfaction.
    • It has so many things you can do, great graphics, awesome side missions, and cool action scenes
    • the only thing i hate was the repetitive horse breaking missions and cow herding missions throughout the main story
    • I didn't like it very much the first 4 missions or so, but then it grew on me and i fell in love with it
    • I am ADDICTED to Red Dead, and I am a girl! The story mission was incredibly captivating with a very surprising ending and the stranger missions are very entertaining!A few weeks after the game was released, Rockstar gave us a free, yes, a FREE DLC (downloadable content)that is a lot of fun
    • missions are pointless.
    • Second, for those of you who didn't like the grunt work missions of the GTA series, don't expect to dodge those
    • While the number of "proper" side missions is still a bit too skimpy for me, the developers have placed a fair amount of random encounters and tasks that will pop up at any given time.
    • Awesome open world gameplay, with tons of exciting missions,an interesting main storyline, memorable characters, great graphics and nice music
    • There are bizarre semi-connected side-missions with 'strangers' that are just irritating and pointless
    • Stranger" missions are just that, strange.
    • You can fail the barn burning mission by bumping into Bonnie (you "assaulted" her), or jumping the fence on your horse (you "terrorized the townsfolk").5.
    • and then you have to suffer through a series of screens and waste a few minutes again - but to make matters far far worse, I have saved games after doing lengthy missions only to have them disappear
    • Great graphics, fun storyline mission and side missions, and cool game play.
    • Has some great action in it and some great multi-player missions
    • I enjoyed any single mission and it's was fun
    • The missions have about the same variety as GTA 4, although they do feel much fresher due to the setting
    • There is enough storyline missions and side missions and achievements to keep avid gamers and the casual gamer busy for days
    • So while you're forced to screw around or fail the mission someone who you're responsible for is going to die
    • Either way, mission failed.
    • The choice is yours!), go on stranger side missions, help those in need on your way from town to town, Patrol the MacFarlane Ranch at night to stop any cattle thiefs/rustlers, be a cowboy (herd cattle), play a game of horseshoes/blackjack/poker/mumblypeg, go to the saloon for a drink (and walk out so
    • Unlike GTA 4 there are usually only 1-3 story missions available at a time, and it does not matter when you do them or in what order
    • Sometimes they drop a person who needs help in the middle of a critical mission.
    • In addition to a series of 40 challenges involving hunting, sharpshooting and other skills, there are a number of "strangers" missions, brief mini-stories prompted when you encounter certain people while out and about in the world
    • Just do the stranger missions!
    • Thankfully, missions in this game are fantastic
    • I felt the same way about Rockstar's GTA 4 (repetitive missions).
    • I've got better things to do than yell at my TV because I've failed the same stupid mission ten times in a row.
    • Wow, what fun.-Boring missions
    • Add in challenges for hunting, treasure finding, flower picking, and the amazing stranger missions, and you have a world that you will want to explore every last pixel of
    • I found their approach to this to be fairly unique, and the little stories that are the stranger missions are fairly interesting, or at least mildly amusing, and add a neat element to the game
    • But there's more to it than that - challenges, outfits, minigames (play a hand of poker or throw some horseshoes), stranger missions, rare weapons, breakable horses, unique environmental encounters, and of course a sandbox multiplayer mode where you can join a posse of eight players to rid the gang hideouts from villany, or just go out hunting for animals and pick flowers if you choose to
    • My favorite activity has been clearing out gang hideouts with other players and while I haven't tried the free co-op DLC missions, I'm really looking forward to them
    • There is so much to do in this game which includes stranger missions, gang hideouts, poker, blackjack, or just helping people on the road
    • You eventually build up to doing more difficult missions, much in vein of the Grand Theft Auto style
    • They show just how screwed up this world can be, and each stranger missions has a conclusion that will make you think
    • Instant deaths from invisible enemies, irritating and nearly impossible escort missions, freezing characters, clipping
    • The shooting mechanic is nice...though the cover mechanic feels useless and the auto-target has left me with at least a few failed missions due to accidental murder
    • The missions are great with many characters and, with over 50 missions, there will be one for you.
    • The Good: Gorgeous and every level, extremely detailed, lots of activities, varied missions keep you busy, top notch dialog and story, fun
    • You can do side missions (called 'Stranger missions' in the game) that are sometimes sad, sometimes happy, and sometimes downright weird
    • This is nothing more the Grand Theft Auto on horseback ,pointless missions like rounding up cattle an horses
    • These missions just help your honor and give you a little money
    • I liked that John not only got his family back, but also he got to do missions for them and with them as well.
    • The missions are fun for the most part, the clearing of hideouts and finding treasure is good
    • Besides that you have the stranger missions which are helping some random
    • Cons:Repetitive missions
    • In my mind, a good game should blend getting into the mind of a character with cutting through the BS of pointless filler missions, so you can understand the motives behind why you're doing something without spending hours watching cutscenes (Metal Gear Solid 4).In Red Dead Redemption at least, the story is fairly clear
    • The characters are new and interesting and the missions are exciting.
    • A type of karma meter (next to your fame meter) tracks your actions and those you help/hurt after a while new people you come across will begin to react to your based on this.- Building "fame" will open up new missions, and new areas to explore
    • Really I can't point to a game and say well there is a game that handled it really well, because games with concise storytelling are pretty short, and games with a lot of gameplay have overcomplicated plots and many useless missions
    • Senseless mission fails.
    • One mission you might be going someplace and killing everybody there, and the next you might be using a gattling gun and protecting a train
    • I did all the main stream and stranger missions and did some hunting challenges
    • There are also missions where you collect items, escort people, defend areas, assault trains, defend stagecoaches... usually while killing guys
    • This is nothing more the Grand Theft Auto on horseback ,pointless missions like rounding up cattle an horses
    • Between the "Stranger" missions, the main story, hunting bounties, duel challenges, and exploring the vast western world, I could tell this would be an addicting game for a long time
    • You can level up, complete quests and challenges and download a free mission pack to complete with friends
    • Along with the multiplayer, you can now download free co op missions and play them with your friends.
    • You can do side missions (called 'Stranger missions' in the game) that are sometimes sad, sometimes happy, and sometimes downright weird
    • Additionally, there are stranger missions, which you will randomly find throughout the environment
