There are many things to do in this wild west world

There's a lot to love, a little to loathe, and plenty to do in Rockstar's latest open-world criminal simulator

This could have been a great world to play in.

The world also sounds beautiful with birds chirping and the sound of crunching dirt under my feet

Lastly, Red Dead Redemption suffers from the same malady that many games do now-a-days: it gives you a world that's big and beautiful, yet empty

All I can really say is if you love open world, sandbox games then you cannot go wrong with this purchase

so I mostly stay away from those types, and I like old world ones, and only modern times or back, so this was from one of my favorite periods and lived up to my expectations

They could have gone for overly bright, super-saturated like the Man-With-No-Name trilogy, or Tombstone, but this feels like a bland world.

if you have enjoyed a rockstar game in the past, then you will certainly enjoy "red dead redemption", which continues the rockstar tradition of effective plotting, exceptional voice and action acting, magnificent virtual world creation, and (usually) fun action challenges

The open world is amazing (and I've only completed 18% of the game).....

Maybe I did not give the game enough of a shot or maybe I just don't enjoy quality games, but I felt like the open world was too vast to cultivate any type of structure to overall plot

with all the painstaking care, art and sheer genius that has gone into texturing, sculpting, drawing and lighting this beautiful virtual world, why is everyone at rockstar so completely ignorant about the sky

Engaging western, open world allows you to pretty much do whatever you want between missions.

This game is very fun to play, has good graphics, great music and sound effects, good amount of unlocks and achievements, multiplayer, good balance of light RPG + action + open-world elements, originality, and a great story

But Rockstar San Diego has in fact created a more heartfelt world than the rather parodic and cold world of Liberty and Vice cities.

Why is it you can be a bad guy, and terrorize the world as an outlaw, but you become good again in cutscenes?

Really, despite some graphic hitches (the trees aren't the sharpest) this is a beautifully violent world in the tradition of Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian and Eastwood's best spaghetti odes to the genre

Detractors called it "Grand Theft Auto on Horses" and it took half a dozen years to bring to life, but Rockstar Games succeeded at creating the most amazing, the most realistic open world adventure ever

Red Dead occupies a massive, believable world that can take away hours and hours of your time.

I saw here the potential to fix the flaws of GTAIV-the opportunity to take GTAIV and craft from it a more refined experience: a tighter storyline, improved controls, and a more focused world

Definitely recommends this to any open world sandbox like game fans out there, you will not regret it

Why go to the effort of creating a near-perfect immersive world to only then offer combat as simplistic as a stand-up arcade shooting game at Chuck-E-Cheese?Oh well, you can't argue with success and this game is breaking records and is highly critically acclaimed, so obviously I am in the minority.
