It’s surely not 100% safe for babies because if they bang their head on the floor, that’s going to be a cry of agony; you can fold it in half and get a better thickness to it however you’re cutting the space as well...

I find myself staring at all the neat colourful layering

I stepped on a small plastic toy and it also damaged the layer

We have cats and cat claws slice through the top layers like razors

The outside/protective layer of this is fairly thin so I can see it tearing/puncturing easily

There was a gap in the foam but the top layer is still intact, is just a matter of time before the top layer will peel off due to no support beneath it.
