This case will protect your ipod/iphone from pretty much all wear and tear you get just by placing it on the wrong surface, in a pocket, or holding it with hard objects in the same hand

Every time I have dropped my phone on a hard surface I have cracked the case, but at this price point I can buy a new one.

(I have not dropped my phone with this case onto any hard surfaces that would have caused the cracking and breaking.)

I doubt it would help with a drop from 5' feet or onto a very hard surface, but this is a great balance of bulkiness and protection.
